Coach Tyson's (16's)
took their first trip to St. Louis to represent us in the
Saint Louis Elite Summer Classic. The 16's division was
packed with St. Louis teams with our squad being the only
out-of-town team.
The guys represented
us well by entering the championship game ranked #1 with a
4-0 record in the pool of 5 teams. We fell short though in
the championship game losing a very close and hotly
contested game to the RamseyBasketball squad we had beat in
our earlier meeting by 15.
We really beat
ourselves in this one, up by five (5) points with 1:37 left
in the game. We had a few brain freezes that cost us the
lead with only seconds left. We still had a chance to win
when a shot by JT from the right hash mark beating the
buzzer was waved off because we had too many players on the
floor.
We can't win em all,
but, one things is for certain, St. Louis know the X Factor
NOW!!!! Great outing guys, now it's on to MAYB National's.

Friday April 18,
2008 the Sophomore Squad played and
won a hard fought game against the Troopers keeping us
undefeated (4-0) in the TGM
League.
James White, Jr. Grandview Sophomore and member of the X
Factor Sophomore Squad High Jumped an incredible 7 Feet in
the Kansas Relays on Friday April 18, 2008. 7 foot is a
personal best for JT and only 1.5" shy of the KU Relay
record. The most amazing thing about this accomplishment for
JT is that he is only a sophomore. Click

taken from the Kansas City Star.
The Freshmen and Sophomore Squad shared 1st and
2nd Place Honors in the MAYB Springfield III Tournament over the

instead packed up and came home with two beautiful trophy's.

Our 2008 season started
out with a bang. We began league play at TGM Sports (Second
Missionary) and KC Premiere and of the 3 games played we won
by an average margin of 30 points.
Sunday 4:30 PM vs KC Premiere White
(73-29); Sunday 6:30 PM vs KC Premiere Black (51-29)
Although these games may
have been relatively easy, the competition will get better.
Great job guys, keep up the good work.

James White, Jr., Sophomore at Grandview, High
won in the High-Jump in Friday's Track Meet with a jump of 6' 10". He also jump
6'10" to win the High-Jump at the Grandview Open Tuesday, April 1 and set a new
school record. JT missed on his 7' attempt by oh so little letting those in
attendance know that that 7' mark is going down this season. Awesome Job JT.
